Essex Steam Train & Riverboat

Take a two-and-a-half hour, narrated, sightseeing journey via a vintage steam train and riverboat through the Connecticut River Valley via the Essex.

The 12-mile, round-trip ride takes about an hour. The train travels at a top speed of 20 mph. At Deep River Station, passengers who are taking the riverboat ride disembark, and those remaining on board can watch while the locomotive is run around its train at the passing siding for the ride back to Essex Station.
